As always, any questions about programming at Riverdale Neighborhood House can also be directed to info@riverdaleonline.org.

  • Any student in grades 6-8.

  • The program is free with limited spots available.

  • There are three locations available. We host our afterschool programs at Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy, Riverdale Neighborhood House and In-Tech Academy. Each student will enroll in the program at one location.

  • The programs all run Monday through Friday. RKA and In-Tech run from 2:40-6PM, whereas RNH runs from 3-6PM to account for travel time between the school and Riverdale Neighborhood House.

Full day programming is also available on select school holidays.

  • All three locations have generally the same structure and goals, but with slightly different offerings depending on the resources and setup of the location. Students will be given time to work on homework, engage in physical activity, develop leadership skills, and explore their interests.

Some activity offerings include soccer, chess, theater, cooking, and more!

  • No. Any student can enroll in any of the programs, regardless of the school they attend. However, we only offer transportation from Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy to Riverdale Neighborhood House.

  • There is a bus from Riverdale Kingsbridge Academy to Riverdale Neighborhood House for participants enrolled in the Riverdale Neighborhood House Program.

  • Registration is through the NYC Department of Youth & Community Development website. We recommend using the quick registration guide posted on this page to help you navigate the registration process for our programs.

  • If you submitted your application through the DYCD website, you should have received a confirmation email that your application was successfully submitted. If you did not receive a confirmation, try applying again.

If you did receive a confirmation, please be patient. Our staff usually needs a few days to review applications. If your child was accepted into the program, you will receive an email confirming their acceptance. Unfortunately, spots are limited so an application does not guarantee acceptance.

  • Spots can open up as students and families plans shift and change. Please be patient, and spots may open up eventually. Additionally, if you are on the waitlist for one of our locations, but we have spots available in another location, we may be able to enroll you in that location.
