CLASS: Guided Meditation
TIME: 10:00 – 11:15 am.
PRICE: $15.00 each class.
INSTRUCTOR: Neem Dewji, director of Yoga for Bliss, based in Riverdale, now in it’s 16th year. She also teaches chair yoga and runs stress management workshops.
We live in stressful times. Modern life makes so many demands on us and bombards us with information constantly, much of which is negative and much of which we feel powerless to change.
Guided meditation can help us in so many ways: to release stress, to relax, to feel better and calmer, to sleep better, to help us feel more in charge of our reactions, and ultimately to shift our perspective and enable us to have a more compassionate, inclusive and empowered view of the world.
In this class, we offer simple meditation techniques to train the mind to become more focused and aware, so as to lead calmer, less stressed, and more fulfilling lives. A meditation practice opens our hearts and reveals us to be the whole person we want to be, both to ourselves and to others. Clear instructions are given at the beginning of each session, followed by meditation practice and brief discussions, sharings or teachings.
Weekly Meditation Group
Join us for our weekly meditation group. Led by Rob Adelman, an experienced and dedicated meditator, we meditate together, followed by a free form discussion of topics of interest to the group. We meet on Tuesday evenings, at 6:45 pm.
There is no charge to participate.
Mixed Level Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Wednesdays : Instructor: Pamela Kelly
Gain greater awareness of the breath, body, and mind as you move with grace and purpose through a series of varying yoga postures. By connecting breath with movement, each class will build strength, flexibility and balance while creating an increased sense of well-being, on and off the mat.
Pamela has been practicing yoga for more than 19 years. Initially drawn to the mat to balance her running routine, she remained as the deeper awareness and meditative benefits took hold. Pamela strives to create a comfortable and safe environment–free of judgement and full of love–where everyone, no matter their experience, can comfortably explore what yoga means to them, and have a little fun while finding out!
